A few of the singles off of this were used for a few different adverts so the record sounded pretty familiar to me even on my first listen. It's a good record - not sure how durable it will be but its a very accessible record. At it's core is basic indie guitar music with some very sleek production behind it.
The tunes are good and there are no tracks that you'd want to skip over. It's like throwing Franz Ferdinand and Snow Patrol together and getting the best bits of both bands without the poorer elements. Time will tell if this band can go any further than this but really enjoyed their debut effort. TH is not meant to be profound - it's supposed to be fun. It is essentially a pop album but with more original lyrics and music.
My history TH is not meant to be profound - it's supposed to be fun. It is essentially a pop album but with more original lyrics and music. My history with TH goes back to the song 'What You Know' which was one of my favorite songs for a good length of time. Later, I started to listen to 'Something Good Can Work' often, and the 'Eat That Up' even more often. Finally, I listened to the full TH album.
I have heard it all the way through a good number of times now thanks to the short length. All in all, TH is really enjoyable. The music is really likable, upbeat, fun, and catchy. The music is easy to love on every songs except for 'I Can Talk' and 'Undercover Martyn.' Other than those, the music and vocals are really likable. The lead singer has a voice that works great with the music and lyrics on TH, and the digital editing actually sounds good. The lyrics are not much on this album, and are really repetitive.
This doesn't kill the album, as the voice singing the lyrics and the music sound great. Anyone can really enjoy this album, as long as they like fun, upbeat electro-pop music and vocals.
